We've received a few emails asking why we don't allow open commenting on posts. The short answer is that, at the end of the day, we're attorneys, and there are all sorts of ethical and professional rules we are required to follow under whichever state bars we are admitted. Thus, we don't allow commenting so that we don't violate any state's ethical rules regarding providing legal advice. hi, I stumbled across your blog as I have a hobby interest in personal tech/video games and I'm also looking into a career in patent law. After Oct 2007, I will be a PhD in molecular biology and I'm hoping to find work leading to patent agent. Quick question for you though: how frequent is crossover work between disciplines in patent work? For example, if I went in primarily focusing on biotech/medical patents would I get a chance to see patent work in electronics/video games/emerging technologies from these disciplines?
Thanks and keep up the good work!
